Fourth Papa John’s store for Gurnek Singh
Papa John’s, a leading pizza franchise chain, has announced that franchisee, Gurnek Singh, has opened his fourth store. Singh, who joined the franchise in 2011 runs stores in Rugby, Leamington Spa and Sheffield and has now opened in Banbury, Oxfordshire, on George Street.
“We are seeing a growing trend by our franchisees to run multiple operations,” confirms Anthony Round, business development manager. “This is where the franchisee purchases more than one unit, maximising the opportunity we offer.
“Currently we are offering no franchise fee to open further outlets and there are advantages of economies of scale by running more than one store as it offers the chance for expansion using a formula franchisees know works well.
“Once a franchisee becomes confident in managing one store, we can help him apply that knowledge to open multiple outlets. We also offer some great incentive deals to help ambitious franchisees expand in this way. One of our franchisees successfully runs 14 outlets.”
Singh comments: “I was first recommended to the Papa John’s business opportunity by my cousin, who is also a franchisee. I knew the brand was popular and so decided to open my first outlet in Sheffield. It has been hard work, but I’m delighted to now be opening my fourth.
“In a way, owning and running multiple stores is easier than running just one, as you have staff to help you,” he continues.
“Of course, you need to manage your team, but we all get on really well and in addition create more jobs, and opening more stores means increased sales. The Banbury opening is exciting as the store is in a popular location and we are very much looking forward to serving up some great pizzas for the local community.”
Papa John’s is one of the largest pizza companies in the world with around 4,450 stores and is rapidly expanding in 34 markets. It is renowned for its product quality and currently has opportunities for potential franchisees throughout the country, including the key locations of the South East, Yorkshire, Manchester, West Midlands, East Midlands, South West, North East, Wales and Scotland.
Round adds: “We are looking for more enthusiastic franchisees who are keen to become multiple site operators.
“As a result, and to help prospective franchisees bring our pizzas to even more customers we have announced some exciting incentive deals. For new stores opening in Wales, the Midlands, North East, the North West and Scotland we are offering a nine-month royalty break for stores opening before the end of the year.
“To get new franchisees off to a great start, we are also supplying some free equipment, plus an additional £10,000 of marketing spend for the store opening launch.
“The whole package can result in savings of £50,000 for a first store. These fantastic deals are only available this year and are limited – so first come first served.
“To a great extent, Papa John’s success is due to the popularity of our product. Our pizzas are created only using the highest quality ingredients and 100 per cent fresh dough to make a top quality pizza with a better natural flavour.
“Combine this with excellent customer service, rapid delivery times, a strong brand, comprehensive staff training and some hard hitting marketing support and the franchise serves up a fantastic offer for those looking for a quality investment opportunity.
“Our training and support is second to none. Staff and franchisees undergo a thorough training programme,” he continues. “Our blended learning programme includes classroom-style teaching, on-the-job training, plus working through a bespoke online training system and access to 12 core modules designed to cover every essential aspect of the franchise.
“In addition to training, marketing support, help with location selection and shop fit-out, we supply all the help the new franchisee needs to get his store up and running.”
